My poor little 'Raggedy'

Today is Teddy Bear Picnic Day. Did you have a favorite childhood stuffed animal? Describe it.

I really wanted to find a photo of me with my favorite doll, but I just couldn't get the time today. My dolly was a beautiful little Raggedy Ann doll (referred to just as 'Raggedy') made for me by my Aunt Nancy. I loved that doll through at least two sets of sewn-on eyes and several dresses. She has bright red yarn hair and a little heart sewn onto her chest. She's in the hope chest in my basement and I haven't laid eyes on her for years, but I can still feel that soft cotton doll against my cheek. And correct me if I'm wrong, Dad, but I think I remember you wandering around the neighborhood in a downpour searching for her once because I couldn't sleep without my Raggedy. We found her safe and dry inside, although my Daddy was not :)

Thanks for the great memory to end the week on.

I forgot until now that I had a raggedy ann and andy. Both of my girls had raggedy anns that my mother in law gave them. Glad you have good memories about it.

How sweet. I had a raggedy ann doll, too.

What a darling tale (I can imagine dad was not to happy about being in the rain, but thrilled that his little girl found her best friend). I never had a raggedy ann doll though my baby sister did.
