I make no secret of the fact that I hold a conservative point of view. So lately a lot of things have gotten me hot under the collar. But for some reason today I'm just plain mad. The administration has unveiled it's new policy for fuel emission standards and I'm completely baffled. Here's what I know and why my head hurts: 1. Auto makers got an unprecedented bailout from my grandchildren. 2. Yet they are still being forced into bankruptcy, closing plants and dealers because people are not buying cars. 3. Neither Nancy Pelosi nor President Obama knows anything about the inner workings of an internal combustion engine, which in the fantasy-world of Washington, D.C. makes either of them the perfect choice for determining what can and can not be designed, prototyped, tested and produced large-scale in a five-year period. Do you see where I'm going here?
When I heard Nancy Pelosi say something to the effect that "we have now put into place a plan for making our cars more efficient", I had to laugh. They have in fact, put into place a "wonderful" plan for creating more bureaucracy, putting more strain on an already-burdened auto industry and making me--the taxpayer--pay for it. They just make the policy, but it's the dwindling amount of engineers and production workers who have to make sure that this thing works.
Good heavens. I think I'll take two aspirin and a trip to Heritage.org before my head explodes. [Thanks for letting me rant. You have every right not agree, but I do feel better.]

I was thinking the very same thing. What they are doing the car industry is only going to get worse. What a mess!!! I've been so mad the past 100+ days, I can't think straight.
I can only imagine how things are going to be in the next few years.
God help us all.
AMEN, Sister! You get to rant about the Universalized engineering and I will rant about the Universalized health care ok?
I agree full-heartedly. All the talk about getting our economy under control and they are just making it worse.
