Just had to share. My proudest moment as a mommy this year came last Sunday as I watched my 7-year-old daughter stand up and belt out a solo (her debut) this year in our church's Celtic Christmas celebration. There were nine female vocalists (including myself), a small band, one actor and my little girl. She was confident and not scared at all. In fact when I asked her that morning if she was nervous since she didn't want breakfast, she looked at me like I had two heads--why should I be nervous, Mom? I know what I'm doing. If you want to see photos of all of us, go to our Praise Team blog and check it out. Oh, what a fun time we had, singing, praising and enjoying the fun that Christmas should be. I'm the one directly to the left of the band. And hopefully, one of us will get some video up so I can show her off even better!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

On the thirteenth of December...
I really wanted a hamburger with ...
a pineapple ring, shaved ham, cream cheese and teriyaki sauce! I know it might sound disgusting, but it's my favorite burger called a "Gilligan" from a local chain, Sanford's Grub and Pub. They also have this with a breaded chicken breast instead of a burger--it's called the "Bahama Mama" and it's a favorite too.
Boy, am I hungry. When's lunch?

On the sixth day of December...
I will pick up A Redbird Christmas by Fannie Flagg and read it because I'm a sucker for a good Christmas story and I love her books. When I found it at the used bookstore the other day, I couldn't resist and I'm 75% through the book and haven't been sorry yet!

On the fifth day of December....
...I watched Heroes and wished that the season wasn't over and even though the show comes back early next year, I'm not sure I can wait that long and I'll have to find some other TV show to tide me over until then, except I don't think there are any shows quite like that one on TV and I'm just out of luck. Phew!

In the Christmas spirit!
Who doesn't love Christmas? I thought I'd give my blog a little holiday flaire. The graphics are from the Thumpity Thump Thump kit by Kristin Cronin-Barrow and Paula Duncan over at Sweet Shoppe Designs. It's a beautiful kit!
And if anyone is interested in some free Christmas tags (made by myself and the fabulous ladies on Sharia Braxton's CT) head over to Sharia's blog here. We made them with Sharia's How Grunge Stole Christmas kit from Elemental Scraps. Check it out !
So last night our family watched our all-time favorite Christmas special: "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown". I have no idea now how many years I have watched it and every year, it makes me smile even a little more. What a wonderful way to start the holidays!
